API SAMBALPUR CITY BRANCH

About us

Sambalpur is the principal city of this region with a rich heritage of learning and culture. We have the second oldest Medical College of the state from where most of us have graduated and have done our specializations. With the ever changing and constantly evolving science of medicine the need to get updated was sorely being felt. What we lacked was a forum to give us the support.

It was in the second half of 2023 that we mooted the idea of having a branch of the Association of Physicians of India at Sambalpur. We took the help of Dr A Murugnathan, a past API President who unflinchingly helped us in getting us the necessary permissions from our Headquarters at Mumbai to form a Branch here.

API Sambalpur City Branch

We formed the API Sambalpur City branch in November 2023, with 30 members. Dr Ashok K Singh who was instrumental in getting all the ground work done was, unanimously elected as its first Chairman. We had a glittering inaugural function at the River Inn Resorts at Sambalpur in June 2024. The program was a runaway success with more than 260 Physicians attending. Dr Murugnathan was himself present to inaugurate the program along with the Chairman API Odisha State Chapter Dr S N Swain and senior physicians from all over.

We intend to carry on the good work with our basic agenda of spreading the knowledge of Medicine to every corner of this region. We should also encourage research activities amongst us which will ultimately be helpful and useful to humanity.
